Directions to The Gatehouse

Arriving via Wareham and Corfe Castle on the A351:

As you arrive in Swanage, you will pass houses & The Royal Oak pub on your right.  Approximately 200m after The Royal Oak, the road bends slightly to the left at a road junction.  Turn right at this junction and bear immediately left (High Street).  Follow this road (slightly uphill at first) passing Steer Road (twice) then, Cow Lane. First left is Newton Manor Close. The house is on the left, in Newton Manor.

Arriving via the Sandbanks / Studland Ferry (ie. From Poole/Bournemouth):

Having left the ferry and paid (£4.20) at the tollbooth, drive along Ferry Road until you come to Studland (approx. 3 miles).  Drive through Studland and shortly after, take the left turning to Swanage.  Follow this road (Ulwell Road) for almost 2 miles and you will come to a one-way road at North Swanage.  Follow the road around the bend to the left and downhill and after a further few hundred metres, Swanage Bay will come into view.  Follow the road alongside the beach until you see the sign indicating Town Centre and Swanage Railway to the right.  Take this right-hand turning (Victoria Avenue) and shortly you will come to some traffic lights – turn left into Rempstone Road.  A few hundred metres later, you will come to a mini roundabout at the top of Station Road (Swanage Railway station on your right).  Go straight over into Kings Road West (Post Office on your left) and follow the road around to the right.  Pass the Co-op on the right, church on the left. The turn left on to Court Hill Road then right on to High Street, Newton Manor Close is the 4th on the right. The house is on the left, in Newton Manor.

The Gatehouse is less than 15 minutes walk from the beach
